Panorama of Istanbul and the Galata Tower — visa for Turkey

Visa-free travel

Turkey Visa

Visa-free entry with a stay of up to 90 days in any 180.

Azerbaijani citizens do not need to obtain a visa in advance to travel to Türkiye. Under the agreement between the two countries you may stay for up to 90 days within a 180-day period on an ordinary passport. A valid passport is required at the border; under the rule of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs the passport must be valid for at least 60 days beyond the 90-day visa-free period — that is, at least 150 days from entry (airlines often ask for six months). Since 1 April 2021 direct trips can also be made on a biometric ID card; the card must be valid for at least 30 days from entry, while a passport is required when travelling in transit through a third country.

In some cases the border service may ask for a return ticket, a hotel booking or a document confirming that you can support yourself for the length of the trip. Staying longer than 90 days, working or studying are not covered by this arrangement; in those cases a residence permit must be obtained. The fact that no visa is needed does not remove the need to plan the trip.

Choosing the flight, booking the hotel, arranging the transfer and building the itinerary still take time and experience. The Viza.az team supports you at these stages and plans your trip to fit your budget. We recommend arranging travel insurance separately, as cover against unexpected medical costs.
