Visa types for the United States

An application for a US visa rests on a correctly completed DS-160 form and an interview in which you explain your travel plans clearly. Different visa categories apply to tourism, family visits, study and work.

Our team supports you through collecting the information, preparing the form, booking the appointment and getting ready for the interview. The final decision rests solely with the US consulate.

Visa to the United States: frequently asked questions

Yes. Most applicants aged 14 to 79 attend an interview in person at the US embassy in Baku. The interview is short, but you will be asked about the purpose of your trip, your finances and your intention to return to Azerbaijan. Preparing clear, consistent answers on these three subjects is the most important part of the application.

The most common problem is a mismatch between the passport and the spelling on the form — the first name, surname and passport number must match letter for letter. The second frequent mistake is listing previous trips and your place of work incompletely. Corrections are difficult once the form has been submitted, so read every section again before you confirm.

No. The 185 USD fee is charged for processing the application and is not refunded whatever the outcome. If you are refused, you must pay the fee again to reapply. That is why preparing the documents fully the first time saves both time and money.

There is no official waiting period — you can reapply at any time. But if nothing has changed in your circumstances, the outcome will most likely be the same. The sensible approach is to understand the reason for the refusal and remove it: stronger financial documents, for example, clearer proof of employment or a concrete travel plan.

Yes, a separate DS-160 form is completed for each child and a separate fee is paid. Children under 14 are usually not called for an interview, but a birth certificate and copies of the parents’ passports are required. If one parent is not travelling, a notarised consent must be prepared.

A previous visa is a positive factor, as it shows you have followed the rules. In some cases it even opens the way to renewal without an interview. Even so, it does not mean automatic approval — every application is assessed afresh.

The validity of the visa and the length of stay are two different things. A visa can be issued for up to 10 years, but how long you may stay on each entry is decided by the officer at the border, and that is usually up to 6 months. Pay attention to the date on the stamp in your passport.

We check your documents first, draw up an individual document list, help complete the DS-160 form and plan the interview slot. Interview preparation is part of the service too. The final decision belongs solely to the US consulate — no company can guarantee the result.
