Visa types for Thailand

From 15 September 2026 Azerbaijani citizens can obtain a visa on arrival in Thailand. The change was formalised by a notice published in the Royal Gazette on 31 August and applies to Belarus and Serbia as well as Azerbaijan.

The visa on arrival is issued at designated immigration checkpoints, allows a stay of up to 15 days, and the fee is paid in cash in local currency. At the border you may be asked to show an onward ticket, an address of stay and a certain amount of funds.

For anyone planning a longer trip, the e-visa option remains. Since January 2025 Thailand has moved all visa applications to a single electronic system, and the tourist category allows a stay of up to 60 days. Which option suits your route depends on the length of the trip. Viza.az works this out in advance.
