Visa types for Saudi Arabia

Since 2023 Saudi Arabia has expanded its e-visa programme and added Azerbaijan to the list. That has simplified the rules for travelling to the country considerably.

The tourist e-visa allows multiple entries within one year and gives the right to stay up to 90 days per trip. The total amount includes the visa fee, compulsory medical insurance and an additional tax, so the final figure is higher than the base fee.

An important point: the Umrah pilgrimage can be performed on a tourist visa, but the Hajj season is governed by separate rules and requires a different permit. Anyone planning a trip to Mecca and Medina should also allow for the rules on dress, season and routes. Viza.az prepares the application and identifies the category that matches the purpose of the trip.
