Visa types for the Netherlands

A Schengen type C visa is required for travel to the Netherlands. Applications are submitted to the Capago centre operating in Baku.

Besides the 35-euro consular fee, the centre’s service charge is also paid. The Netherlands takes document requirements seriously; the hotel booking and return ticket must already be confirmed at the moment of application.

Amsterdam, Rotterdam and the Keukenhof tulip gardens are the main destinations. In spring, demand for tulip tours rises sharply. Viza.az checks the hotel booking and the return ticket confirmation before the application.

Visa to the Netherlands: frequently asked questions

In Baku, Dutch applications are accepted by the Capago visa centre. The documents are handed in there and the biometrics taken.

There are two official payments: the 35-euro consular fee and the 26-euro Capago charge. The Viza.az service is 95 AZN and includes checking the booking confirmations.

The Dutch consulate takes a firm view on documents being confirmed: the hotel booking and return ticket must be valid at the moment of application. An unpaid booking, or one that will be cancelled, is considered risky.

The Keukenhof gardens are open from late March to mid-May and demand rises sharply in that period. It is advisable to start the application in January or February.

Taking accommodation in a nearby city — Haarlem, Rotterdam, Utrecht — is a normal solution. The address must appear clearly on the booking document and the travel within the itinerary must make sense.

An invitation from your Dutch partner, a letter from your employer, a travel order and a schedule of meetings. If you are attending a trade fair, confirmation of registration is added.

Usually 7 to 15 working days. The period stretches during the tulip season and in the summer months.

We check that the booking and ticket confirmations are valid at the moment of application, prepare the document file and plan the Capago appointment.
