Visa types for Ireland

Ireland is not part of the Schengen area, so a Schengen visa does not grant entry to the country — a separate application is required.

The application begins in the official online system known as AVATS: you fill in the form, then print and sign the summary and submit it with the document file to the VFS Global centre in Baku. The centre’s service charge and courier cost are paid separately from the consular fee.

The short-stay C visa allows a stay of up to 90 days and can be single or multiple entry. Processing takes longer than for other countries and can run to several weeks, so it is important to apply at least two months before the trip. Viza.az takes care of filling in the form, drawing up the document list and planning the appointment.

The application begins in the official online system known as AVATS, after which the printed summary and the document file are submitted to the VFS Global centre in Baku.

The centre’s service charge and the two-way courier cost are collected separately from the consular fee. Both amounts are calculated with VAT included.

Processing a short-stay C visa can take several weeks — one of the longest periods among European countries. It is essential to apply at least two months before the trip.

It is the short-stay category allowing a stay of up to 90 days. Tourism, family visits, business trips and short study programmes all fall under it.

Both options exist. A multiple-entry visa is usually given to applicants who have travelled to Ireland before.
