Business owners submit a copy of the tax registration, a turnover certificate from the tax office and a register extract instead; students submit a letter from their institution.

Visa to Denmark: frequently asked questions

Denmark has no separate visa centre in Azerbaijan. Applications are accepted through a representing embassy and the documents are submitted directly there. Before applying, it is important to establish which embassy represents Denmark.

No. As there is no separate visa centre, no extra service charge is collected — only the 35-euro consular fee is paid. That makes the cost lower than for other Schengen countries.

As there is no centre, the number of appointments is limited and the queue can be long. The trip needs to be planned at least two months ahead. In the summer months allow even longer.

On a route covering several Scandinavian countries, the application is made to the country where you will spend the most nights. If the time is equal, the country you enter first is chosen. If Denmark is a transit point, it is right to apply to the main destination.

The children’s birth certificates, a separate form for each child and a consent document from the parents (if one is not travelling). A park ticket or booking makes the purpose of the trip clear.

The cost of living is among the highest in Europe, and that is taken into account when the financial documents are assessed. The daily spending calculation must match the length of the trip. Weak financial cover is the most common reason for refusal.

The standard Schengen period is 15 calendar days, but for applications sent through a representing embassy it can stretch. A realistic expectation is 10 to 20 working days.

We establish which embassy is accepting the application, prepare the document file and follow the appointment process. As representation arrangements can change, we check the current situation before every application.
